Waverley by Medallion Home Located in Prestigious Sarasota School District

Feb 20, 2018

Sarasota, Florida is known as one of the best places in the country to live, work, and raise a family. This is due in large part to the city’s thriving recreational and cultural opportunities that offer something for everyone. The business scene is healthy and growing, and the city has top-quality schools and an affordable cost of living. Its rolling white-sand beaches on Florida’s Gulf Coast create an atmosphere of luxury in the friendly community of Waverley, a Medallion Home Community. There are a number of colleges in the area, including New College of Florida, Ringling School of Art and Design, the University of South Florida, Sarasota County Technical Institute and Keiser College. Sarasota is an interesting and wonderful place to live.

The Sarasota County School District is designated as an “A” district by the Florida Department of Education. It is ranked fourth highest in scores in Florida’s standardized tests among the state’s 67 school districts. Sixty-five percent of the county’s public school teachers hold a master’s degree or higher, compared to a 41 percent state average.

The 55 public schools in Sarasota County serve all educational needs and support lifelong learning from pre-kindergarten to adult enrichment. Schools include traditional K-12 schools, charter schools, two schools for students with special needs, a school for intellectually gifted students, an academy for struggling students in grades 8-10, a technical high school and an institute that offers career training for high school students and adults. Pine View School, which serves intellectually gifted students from throughout the county in grades two-12, consistently ranks among the nation’s best high schools on lists compiled by U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek and other publications.

Specialized programs include International Baccalaureate (Riverview High, Brookside Middle and Phillippi Shores Elementary), Advanced International Certificate of Education (Sarasota High), Visual and Performing Arts programs (Booker Middle and High) and the Young Marines (Venice Middle School), the nation’s first all-day middle school program sanctioned by the U.S. Marine Corps. High schools feature learning communities that focus on specific career areas such as Business Management, Marketing & Hospitality (North Port High), and the Venice Medical Academy (Venice High School), to name a few.

Waverley is an exclusive, gated, boutique community of luxury homes in south Sarasota. Located on Proctor Road, the community offers great convenience to I-75 and is between Bee Ridge and Clark Rd, the main routes to downtown Sarasota. Waverley is a short drive from Sarasota’s best beaches like Siesta Beach and Lido Beach, golf courses and is close to everyday conveniences. The public schools slated for Waverley, a Medallion Home Community, are Lakeview Elementary School, Sarasota Middle School and Riverview High School.

A long-time leader in new homes in Southwest Florida, Medallion Home is known for quality construction, expert craftsmanship, and responsive customer service. Every Medallion Home is built with expert craftsmanship by an award-winning team of architects, engineers and designers.

Though we don’t build homes for the awards, Medallion Home proudly showcases our homes at the Parade of Homes Manatee & Sarasota Counties each year. It’s a chance for us to show our quality craftsmanship and unique custom designs to prospective homebuyers and represent what they can expect from every home we build. This year was no different. We were honored to be among the top award-winning home builders and to be recognized for several of our homes throughout the area.

In Florida and throughout the country, PGT Impact Windows are the gold standard when it comes to storm protection. Here at Medallion Home, we initially offered these premium windows as an upgrade because of the investment but they provide so much benefit to the home and peace of mind to the homeowner that we've decided to make them our standard in every home we build. What Are Impact Windows? Impact windows combine heavy-duty aluminum frames with impact-resistant, laminated glass and a special silicone glazing process to keep the glass from breaking away from its frame. That means that during storms and hurricanes, if flying debris hits your windows, they will stay intact rather than shatter, protecting your home from the elements and people and pets from shards of glass. But these windows can do even more. Noise Reduction Your home should be your sanctuary, one where you leave the outside world at the door and that includes noise. Noise pollution is a very real thing and can disrupt your sleep at night, focus during work, or even a good movie night. PGT's impact windows reduce noise from outside by as much as 65%. UV Protection The sun's UV rays are good in small doses to help your body create essential Vitamin D, but there's really no good reason to have them flooding the interior of your home. These powerful rays can fade your furniture, flooring, and drapes, making these items look old and worn before their time. Impact windows can preserve the beauty of your home and help you save money by filtering out 99% of UV rays while still allowing in natural sunlight. Maximum Energy Savings Heating and cooling a home accounts for nearly half of the average American home's energy costs. Security About 23% of all home break-ins are accessed through a first-floor window. Impact windows are designed to withstand repeated impact from a 9-lb, 2x4 beam traveling at 34 miles per hour. It's very, very hard to break an Impact Window (if it can be done at all). It's not the kind of challenge most burglars want to face. Return on Investment For all the reasons above, particularly in Florida where tropical storms and hurricanes are a way of life, impact windows are appealing in any home. These specialty windows can yield as much as an 80% return on investment, ensuring that you'll get top dollar should you ever need to sell your home. Now Standard in All Medallion Homes High quality, impact-resistant windows shouldn't be luxuries - they should be standard features. That's why we now include them in every new home we build. Enjoy the benefits of increased storm protection, noise reduction, UV protection, savings, and security every day. Contact us to learn more.

Once again it was fun and exciting to be part of the 2023 Parade of Homes Manatee & Sarasota Counties . It was also gratifying to have our unique homes recognized for so many awards! (Not that we’re counting… but that brings us up to 172 awards in 5 years!)
