Your Guide to Farmers Markets in Southwest Florida

April 24, 2026

One of the perks of living in Southwest Florida is how much is within reach. In fact, you're never far from great food, beautiful water, or a really good farmers market. Whether you're after fresh produce, local honey, artisan baked goods, or just a good reason to get outside on the weekend, here's a look at some of the best farmers markets in Southwest Florida to put on your radar.

Gamble Creek Farms

Open daily, 10 AM – 5 PM | Parrish

Technically more farm stand than farmers market, but absolutely worth the mention. Gamble Creek Farms is a 26-acre certified organic farm right here in Parrish, and their on-site market is open every day. You'll find seasonal vegetables, berries, honey, fresh-cut flowers, and locally sourced meat and seafood. Peak season runs January through May, though there's always something worth picking up. It's local eating at its most direct. Plus, it’s only about a 5-minute drive from River Preserve Estates, The Willows and The Laurels.

North River Community Market

First Sunday of every month, 10 AM – 2 PM | Palmetto

One of the newer farmers markets in Southwest Florida, the North River Community Market launched in September 2025 and has already built a loyal following. It's held outdoors at the Palmetto Marriott's The Yard, with over 70 vendors each month. You'll find fresh produce, baked goods, handmade jewelry, art, home goods, and specialty pantry items. Add food trucks, live music, and a kids' zone, and it starts to feel less like a market and more like a monthly event. Best of all, admission and parking are free. It's a fun outing for families, couples, or really anyone who appreciates a well-curated market in a great setting along the North River.

Downtown Bradenton Public Market

Saturdays, 9 AM – 2 PM | Bradenton (October through May)

Just a short drive across the bridge, the Downtown Bradenton Public Market has grown into one of the most vibrant markets in the region. With around 80 vendors, you'll find produce, prepared foods, artisan crafts, and specialty goods. Chef demonstrations and live music make the whole thing feel more like a morning out than a grocery run. The market also puts you steps from Bradenton's waterfront Riverwalk, so it's easy to make a full morning of it.

Sarasota Farmers Market

Saturdays, 7 AM – 1 PM | Sarasota (year-round)

The Sarasota Farmers Market has been running since 1979, and it's still one of the best farmers markets in Southwest Florida. With more than 80 vendors and live music every Saturday morning, it's a full experience. Expect organic produce, fresh seafood, specialty condiments, flowers, and a solid mix of local food vendors. Since it runs year-round, there's no off-season to work around.

A Few Tips Before You Go

Florida's farmers market season peaks from fall through spring, when the growing conditions are at their best. Some markets, like Sarasota's, run year-round. Others take a break during the summer heat. Either way, it's worth checking a market's website or social media before you head out, since schedules can shift around holidays or weather.
